How long did it take your sky daddy to get around to writing the new testament

lets be generous and assume that the new testament was written 50 years after jebus was alive (I know that most of it was written in the second century however im being generous)

2peter3 says "But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years"

So each day is like a thousand years. There are 365 days in a year, 18250 days in 50 years and so is we multiply it by a thousand we end up with 18250000 years of sky daddy time. Thats a massive gap between the jebus being alive and your sky daddy getting around to writing about it.

actually the near entirety of the New Testament was written before 70 AD (with the exception of 2 Peter, and possibly Revelation). Paul's letters were all written before 64 AD, the synoptics all before 62 AD, and John around 64-70 AD.

unless you mean "generous to myself" by "let's be generous"

*insert LOL Wut pear picture*.

your argument is a reductio ad absurdum.

You know I think this argument proves something Einstine once said "There are only two things we know of that are infinite: the universe and human stupidity. And we're still not certain about the former."

Exactly, redicio absurdum is how logical people argue there case

Hi Mike,

The whole verse says:

2Pe 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

This is a comparison to show that time is little to nothing compared to God's eternal nature.

One key word to realise it's a comparison is the word 'as'. The version that you used, used the word 'like'. Either way, it is a comparison.

You have not used a proper form of
reductio ad absurdum. You have used a strawman.
