athiesm vs theism

I came accross this great article here.

It shows how 2,229,074,100 people died because of religion however 45,000,000 died because of atheism. Now i know that xians dont like statistics however its all there.

Stupid excuses

For some strange reason xians seem to think that we cant question their skydaddy as in order to do so we'd have to be a sky daddy. But we can turn that around, if I can think of something I could do better how do we know im not correct. Who says that a sky daddy doesnt have to adhehere to my standards?

did jebus feed 5000 people?

Often people ask how jebus fed the 5000 however if the fish was mouldy then nobody would have taken any and thats how there was enough to go around. Or maybe they chopped the fish into 5000 tiny pieces and nobody was that hungry that day. Maybe its a myth and the fish represented star signs. Maybe jebus was the david blaine of his day. Theres all kinds of rational explanations.

Bertrand Russell

Bertrand Russell is often considered one of the greatest thinkers of all time and having been impressed by his teapot argument i thought i would try reading one of his books. So i bought 'why i am not a christian' So far it is really good, most of the arguments are ones i already know (such as who made god) but this one was new to me:

Christ tells us to become as little children, but little children cannot understand the differential calculus, or the principles of currency, or the modern methods of combating disease. To acquire such knowledge is no part of our duty, according to the church.

This bit is online here (although id recomed buying the book):

His most famous essay can be found here

This guy is an even bigger genius than I was expecting

William stupid craig

Although Im away visiting my parents ive managed to pop on to the net and post a much awaited new blog post.

Aparantly that nincoompoop who debated bill cooke challenged richard dawkins to a debate. You can read about it here

Richard Dawkins obviously turned him down however did write a rebuttal of one of his essays:

One of our commenters on another thread, stevencarrwork, posted a link to this article by the American theologian and Christian apologist William Lane Craig. I read it and found it so dumbfoundingly, staggeringly awful that I wanted to post it again. It is a stunning example of the theological mind at work. And remember, this is NOT an 'extremist', 'fundamentalist', 'picking on the worst case' example. My understanding is that William Lane Craig is a widely respected apologist for the Christian religion. Read his article and rub your eyes to make sure you are not having a bad dream.

Richard

However this is the best thread, I'll share some of the comments about debating william lane craig:

I would rather see Dawkins debate the existence of leprechauns maybe on Jerry Springer

I'd agree. Debating the creationists is like feeding the trolls. People should rise above such pointless behavior.

If this William Lane Craig geezer is so shit-hot, why is it that this here forum is still marching happily along without having had someone demolish us nasty atheists with Craig's arguments?

The same reason he's never sought out my son to debate the existence of Santa Claus!
