JP Holding tells encourages terrorism

Aparantly JPHolding (Bob Turkel) has written a book called blowing the doors off Now Im not certain how he intended it to be taken however in a world of religious terrorists, crusaders and spanish inquisistions his book could easy be understood as an instruction manual on how to blow doors of things. Now maybe he only meant his book as a joke however will he be laughing when an abortion clicnic bomber buys his book and decides to go around their town blowing the doors of all the atheist houses in there area. I think that people like JP Holding (who is rude and obnoctious anyway) should be encouraging people not to do do terrorism rather than writing books encouraging people to blow doors of buildings.

This is just silly. You are being obtuse. Holding is not encouraging acts of terrorism by using an expression for the title which only an idiot would interpret literally. Either you're an idiot or intellectually dishonest.

I would like to comment on your quote by Carl Sagan.

"Those afraid of the universe as it really is, those who pretend to nonexistent knowledge and envision a Cosmos centered on human beings will prefer the fleeting comforts of superstition."

"A Cosmos centered on human beings?"

Was he referring to Secular Humanists? He could not be referring to Deists because their Cosmos is not centered on human beings it is centered on the deity.

Evidently you and Mr. Sagan enjoy insulting yourselves.

Odd behavior, but whatever it takes to make you happy.

if i recall, 'blowing the doors off' was a CB radio (Citizen Band) term for passing another car at high speed.

The connection here, Mike, would be that Holding is claiming that the arguments in his book 'blow the doors off" atheist's standard rants and whines.

I votes idiot, or parody.

In any event, I didn't think of the title...it came from a guy who had the idea for the book and his intent was closer to what the last anon said.

Ever heard of "Don't judge a book by its cover"?

You should also try reading the book description on the product page... It deals with Jesus, not terrorism.

The title of the book is more a sign of JPHolding's arrogance than anything else. His book won't blow doors off literally or metaphorically.

I have to say I'm pretty sure Mike Trite is not a parody.

I say this for several reasons. First, his sheer persistance. He's been at this blog for nearly six months, and is still making regular posts.

secondly I doubt somebody parodying an athiest would blasphime(using terms like 'sky daddies' ect) so much. I dont even think an athiest parodying moronic athiests would do so to the point of getting kicked off of tweb.

Finally although he has some....unique arguments, he does seem familar with most of the standard skeptical lines and every so often does seem to come up with something resembling an actual argument.

Sir-Think-A-Lot, i agree. I don't think Mike is a parody, nor am i convinced that he is on the lower spectrum of intelligence.

I think Mike thinks that he is hurting our feelings, by being disrespectful to Christianity...mostly to gets his kicks. (although i still think that he is dishonest with himself)

At anyrate....

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone... including our host, Mike.

Well I'm pretty sure Mikey actually believes most of his arguemnts.

But I would agree his repeated use of terms like 'sky daddies' 'jebus' ect. as well as the generaly disrepsectful tone of this blog is done mostly to irritate us(even though it really doesnt bother me).
