Some lessons from hollywood

I went to see x men origin wolverine and in it a character says that their powers arent gifts because gifts can be given back. Now when I see a movie I tend to think more deeply about it than most people, due to my intellect, and so realised what the character was saying. If a sky daddy gave us gifts then we would be able to give them back. Yet we cant. So when xians talk about gifts we must wonder how they are gifts when we are unable to return them. I also wondered why you sky daddy gave me the gift of logic and skillful argument if they knew that i would use it to figure out they dont exist?

Also I saw this article claiming that the vatican are against the angel and demons film. no doubt some will try to justfy it it with all the usual claims...oh its a factually inacurate film...oh why would the vatican want to be associated with such a film...........Id like to suggest and alternative-the vatican have something to hide. Just think about it.

I havent see the new Wolverine movie, but I highly doubt he was talking about spirtual gifts or anything related to religion. But onto your other points:

So when xians talk about gifts we must wonder how they are gifts when we are unable to return them.Theres several things that I have to ask: First why cant we recieve a gift we cant give back? And What do you mean by 'give back?' Many churches(mine included) encourage people to give their time and talents(the 'gifts' I assume your talking about) in service to God and the church.

I also wondered why you sky daddy gave me the gift of logic and skillful argument if they knew that i would use it to figure out they dont exist? One possible answer is: he didnt give you the gift of logical argument.

I havent seen Angels and Deamons either, and I dont think I will be.

Hi Mike,

You most certainly can "return" the gifts given to you by God.

For the sake of discussion let's use one that you mention...
your gift of skillfull argument
.... ahem

;)

One way you could "return" that gift would be to not use it (or to use it in a misleading/deceptive way).

Although, there is a much more important gift that God has given all of us.
That would be the gift of Salvation, in which Jesus died on the cross for the sins of each and everyone of us.
But, sadly, many will return this gift simply by refusing to accept it.

As for your suggestion re: A&D..
Your suggestion is no different than the suggestion made by Dan Brown's other story (ie: that they are hiding something).. but really--- so what?
We can suggest that NASA faked the moon landings; that there was someone on(or in) the grassy knoll; that the moon is made of cheese; and for a true one... Big Ben is in London.
But.... none of the suggestions make them so.

Always good hearing from you.
