Now whenever xians pray they put there hands together (presumably to act as a transmitter for there prayer) So how to people without arms pray?

Sorry Mikey nobody says you need put your arms together, or indeed be in any special position to pray.

Mike, that they have to put their hands together is just yet another control mechanism used by the leaders on the mass populace.

Another one is, say, reciting the Lord's Prayer on a daily basis (or as often as humanly possible). Its knows as brainwashing.

Good to have you back, and sorry I've been away :-)

I think it's fairly obvious that people with no arms weren't praying hard enough before God took their arms away.

Maybe that is the punishment for not praying hard enough. God takes your arms away.

And don't give me any of this "what about babies born that way?" because obviously they either:

a) Didn't pray hard enough in utero.

or

b) Their parents didn't pray hard enough for the baby before it was born so God punished everyone.

FiFi,

If what you say is true, that would mean that those "leaders" do not believe what they preach.

I'm sorry, but i find it impossible that someone that has been preaching for 30 or 40 or more years, could have the passion and clarity of thought, if they knew it to be a lie.

Of course, you could hand-wave this away, by claiming that they are also brainwashed. However, if that were true, the clarity of thought would not be there.... remember, they read and study and practice what they preach... not counting the few who make embarrassing human mistakes by sucumbing to sinful temptation.

Johnny, clarity of thought and sincerity of purpose don't necessarily indicate truthfulness. After all, Moslems, Jews, Buddhists and members of all manner of religions, not to mention Atheists, all have sufficient clarity of though and sincerity, and yet you believe them to be misguided.

Sorry, that one just don't wash

But your disagreement was re:'brainwashed'. My comments about clarity of thought was against this, not whether any one worldview were true... and since you include the atheist in your rebuttal, i'm sure that you were not implying that the atheist is brainwashed.
