An atrist has created a phone service to god. If you ring the phone number you arapantly get a message saying: "his is the voice of God, I am not able to speak to you at the moment, but please leave a message." This raises an interesting...why dooesnt your sky daddy have a rela phone numbr we can phone them on?

Why this is a valid question?

Why does God need a phone number when he can hear our prayers from ANYWHERE?

Thanks for your endorsement, Mike... ;)

At anyrate, i LOL'd @ "I'll strike you a deal. Let me know what the lottery numbers are this week & I'll give half to charity?"

If God proved Himself by presenting the lottery numbers, do you really think getting half would be an acceptable "deal"?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not laughing at the people making the comments. I'm here at your blog because i realise that people reject God and i don't want them (to include you) to make an eternal mistake based on many misunderstandings and objections that don't hold water.

Johnny, would you rather we waste our lives singing to an imaginary being, as opposed to getting down to the serious business of creating world peace and understanding?

Put it this way - Christians sit in their corner and pray. Muslims do the same in their corner. And the Jews. All other religions sitting in their corners respectively praying to their respective gods. Firstly, who can definitively say which one of these groups is right? They all think that they are right and all the others are wrong. So you get division and hatred (yes you do - its all over the world as we speak).

However, if you get those people into the centre of the room, and convince them that there are far more important things to worry about, like feeding the world, creating peace and understanding between everybody, and you then have a unity and peace that no religion could ever, or has ever, brought to the world.

The world is more proportionately more peaceful nowadays since Darwin and all who followed him and added flesh to his evolution theory, than there ever was when all man had was religion.

Discuss.

FiFi, a few quick things...

Imaginary beings? Is that a 100% fact, or is it your opinion?

"proportionately more peaceful nowadays"? Is that 100% fact, or is it your opinion?

Is it your opinion that humans, if it's pointed out that they are morally bad, will try to be morally good?

On second thought FiFi, forget the first two questions.

But, in light of what you said here, "However, if you get those people into the centre of the room, and convince them that there are far more important things to worry about, like feeding the world, creating peace and understanding between everybody, and you then have a unity and peace that no religion could ever, or has ever, brought to the world."

I'm really curious to your answer to:
"Is it your opinion that humans, if it's pointed out that they are morally bad, will try to be morally good?"

Thanks in advance.

Johnny has covered all of your unsubstantiated statements, but I wanted to wade in on one of them.

"Put it this way - Christians sit in their corner and pray."

I will have to admit that I have been known to sit in a corner and pray sometimes, but that is not the extent of my Christian life. In the past year I have helped build a playground for needy children, I have assembled bikes for hours for needy children, I have delivered truckloads of food and clothing to a local homeless shelter, and I have helped clean up vacant inner city lots. I did all this with my fellow church members. While building bikes I worked hand and hand with members of every major religion. I may not be a humanist, but I am a humanitarian. My God requires me to care for my fellow man. It shames me to speak of these things. I did them out of love for my God and for mankind. I am taught not to discuss things in a way that it might appear I am boasting, however, your narrow minded suggestion that Christians as well as other religious people have no redeeming value left me no choice.

What have you done?

Ignoring the question of whether God, is in fact imaginary, Why cant we do both?

The world is more proportionately more peaceful nowadays since Darwin and all who followed him and added flesh to his evolution theory, than there ever was when all man had was religion.

Yea thats why the largest and most destructive wars, the cruelist most totaltarian regimes, and the creation of the deadilest weapons the world has ever seen have all occured since then.
