Its all your sky daddys fault

I came across this article the other day. So why does god allow people to have sexual desires if they aren't meant to have sex at that age and why didn't your sky daddy make it easer for those of us without girlfriends to have sex if he doesn't want people to use prostitutes? Hes just begging for things like that to happen. O.K, may they were to young to hire prositutes however god should have made them not get sexual desires until theyre a bit older.

Mikey. You do know the ancient Greeks placed a value on self-control. Maybe you should learn to do the same. I have strong desires like anyone, but I am not a slave to them.

Also, keep in mind in the ancient world a girl would become married generally as soon as she entered puberty. Things have changed sadly as we marry later and later.

Finally, you're appealing to a moral standard. Please tell me what your standard is, where it comes from, and how you claim knowledge of it.

So you are a slave to your desires Mikey?

Would you care to answer that question Mike?

It would behoove you to look into what you are saying and see if it is logical.

You would like to be logical wouldn't you, Mike?

You are all over the page on this one, but as best I see it you believe our morals are based on what the majority believes to be morally correct in a particular location at a particular time. You further seem to believe that this majority belief will evolve into something more moral in the future. So what we believe to be moral today will not necessarily be considered moral in the future.

Based on morality being time and case specific how can you appeal to any moral truth?

Mikey,

Is your name Ralph?

Mike,

The problem is not that God allows them to have sexual desires at a young age.... or any age without a spouse (not just girlfriend, like you said), for that matter.

The problem is that humans do not want to do what God Commands.

Mike, did you miss the fact that Ralph (according to the article) stole $30,000 from his dad and/ or the credit card company?

Did you miss that his dad said that he was going to make up for missing Ralph's birthday, by taking him to Disney?
In what way is that teaching his kid to do what's right?

Unlike Ralph's dad, God has laid down the Law to let us know what's right and wrong, and God also has let us know what the penalty for disobedience is.

And, in God's mercy, He has also substituted Himself, to pay for your sins and mine.

God truely is good.

God Bless you Mike,

If there is a moral standard then why does it have to come from god? There is a standard for good mathematics of logic and that doesnt come from god.

atheism allows you to be free to think for yourself without having to follow silly sky daddy rules.

This is confusing Mike.

Do you believe in God?

Why question something you do not believe in?

You do believe in evolution, don't you?

Why not question evolution?

You need to restate your statement. Let me help you out.

I came across this article the other day. So why does evolution allow people to have sexual desires if they aren't meant to have sex at that age and why didn't your evolution make it easer for those of us without girlfriends to have sex if evolution doesn't want people to use prostitutes? Evolution is just begging for things like that to happen. O.K, may they were to young to hire prositutes however evolution should have made them not get sexual desires until theyre a bit older."

Looks like good ole evolution has made a mess of things.

How old should one be to engage in sex or hire prostitutes?

How do you determine the age?

Actually, I'd also say mathematics and logic come from God. Tell me this Mikey. Do we discover these things or create them?

Now if you want to postulate a moral standard apart from God, go ahead and try.

mathematics was created by man.

Your question has been refuted time and time again - take a look here

Mikey. Exactly how ignorant are you? Numbers refer to concepts. The concept of 1 doesn't change even if we decide to call it 2. We do not create math. We discover it. The Pythagoreans saw themselves understanding the universe with the aid of numbers. They also used this in their development of music. The universe is surprisingly mathematical. Why would the universe so conform to that which we supposedly created?

Mikey. You really need to learn to make arguments on your own instead of constantly having to refer to someone else who you mindlessly accept.

did you not take a look at that link i gave you?

Nick said...

Yes Mikey. You see, I have this gift where I can evaluate arguments to see if they hold up or if they're just nonsensical instead of mindlessly believing anything. You know, the same reason I don't buy Richard Dawkins's *coughs* arguments. *coughs.*

What I find funny is that in most cultures(including hte one the Bible came from) people marry around the age of puberity. The fact that we marry older is a cultural thing, certainly not God's fault.

But really even so is it THAT hard to keep your penis muzzled until you get married? Do you not have a little bit of self control?
