Lord of the rings and star wars Vs the bible

Anyone who has met a starwars or lord of the rings fan will know how fanatical they can be about a work of fiction. Infact some star wars fans have even tried to get jedi as an official religion. So if, say, 2000 years ago someone wrote a best selling novel called the bible would it be difficult to see how people might have started taking it a bit to seriously? You know, just as you get lord of the rings conventions they started to organise jesus parties. Soon this got out of hand and people forgot that it was only a fictional story...and here we are now with only intelligent people like me realising how the bible is only a novel.

What evidence do you have for the bible being a fictional novel?

hmmmm. I can see it now. people make up a story about someone being crucified and rising from the dead, but they forget it was fiction! GENIUS! you should try to publish that idea in a peer-reviewed biblical studies journal! :o

Mike doesn't seem to realise that being killed on a cross was very shameful.
Hardly something one would forget.

Mikey also seems to forget that briefly searching records from our own time period is enough to prove that Star Wars and LOTR is indeed fiction and when we search the time frame of the Bible... nobody mentions it being fiction. Humm I guess small details are something mikey often misses.

Indeed it would have made things a lot easier for the Romans instead of killing all the Christains simply point out that the Gospels were fiction. Kinda makes you wonder why they didnt try it...

Also the story of people trying to get 'Jedi' accepted as a religion has been grossly exagerated. There was an e-mail going round a few years ago that claimed marking 'Jedi' on a census form would require the government to recognize it as an offical religion. Not only is this untrue, but it turns out the letter was a joke. snopes lookes into this particular myth here:
