CS Lewis admitted that the bible contained failed propheses

There is an article here that shred xianity to pieces

CS Lewis aparantly wrote once:

"Say what you like," we shall be told, "the apocalyptic beliefs of the first Christians have been proved to be false. It is clear from the New Testament that they all expected the Second Coming in their own lifetime. And, worse still, they had a reason, and one which you will find very embarrassing. Their Master had told them so. He shared, and indeed created, their delusion. He said in so many words, ‘this generation shall not pass till all these things be done.’ And he was wrong. He clearly knew no more about the end of the world than anyone else."

So even C S Lewis admited that the bible contains false propeses

Question for you Mike...

Is there a particular reason that you did NOT quote the whole claim of C.S. Lewis?

I mean... the Wiki article even had the rest.

Maybe it's your reading skills, so i'll give you a hint to use:

in the first line that you quote, it says, ["Say what you like," we shall be told, "the apocalyptic beliefs of the first Christians have been proved to be false....]

the "we shall be told" is what Lewis actually said. The stuff around that, was the stuff that Lewis was reporting to be said of a hypothetical critic.

Now, go back and re-read the whole quote, and see if you have not been a bit hasty in thinking that Lewis was your new best friend.

As for the rest of the article.... i'm wondering how closely you read it.
Well... did you read it closely?

Misquoted CS Lewis Mikey? I've read that quote and I know it goes on to say something else. Is there a reason you're not being honest with us Mikey?
