the sermon on the mount

one of the most famous parts of the bible is the sermon on the mount but we can see that it is a bit of bizare story. Firstly why did jebus do it on a mountain? It seemed a bit much to make everyone walk to the top of a mountain to hear him when he could have done it somewhere not in the middle of nowhere. Next if there were millions of people how did they all hear him? It was also where he said to love your neighbour but what if your neighbour isnt very nice? Clealry this has all the hallmarks of a made up story. indeed wed expect at least a few of the people to write about it in heir diaries or their blog equivilant and yet where is the evidence such an event took place?

What does the text say? If you read the text, you should be able to answer this yourself.

Next if there were millions of people how did they all hear him?

I think there was quite a few less than a million.

It was also where he said to love your neighbour but what if your neighbour isnt very nice?

What if your neighbor isn't nice?... why should that matter.... in fact, that's one of the points.

Mat 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Mat 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Mat 5:46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
Mat 5:47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
Mat 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

When you make a strawman, it has all the "hallmarks" that you intend for it to have, Mike. Why don't you actually study it, instead of building strawmen?

Other than that, how many people did you want to write about it? We have the Gospels (i'm being more general than just the Sermon on the Mount).
How many people, in first century Jeruselem, were able to write?
How many of those, had "pen and paper"?
And of those that could write, and had writing utinsil and cocktail napkins handy... how many of them had the time? ESpecially if the Disciples were already jotting some it down (no, i'm not claiming this is the case. I'm just showing plausible reason that you need to look more closely.)

God Bless,

if your sky daddy was as powerful as you say then they could beam the bible into my head without me having to read it

Yes Mike, God could have done things that way, but He is not required to do them that way.

Ok, let me rephrase that...

Mike, please present a logical proof that God would HAVE to do something the way that you think it should be done.

In order for your proof to work, it would have to entail that it would be impossible for God to do things a different way.
