I dont think people understand that not everything if life is complete fiction or complete fact. The russians have got annoyed that the new indianna jones film is historically inacurate claiming 'It's rubbish... In 1957 the communists did not run with crystal skulls throughout the US.' (my source) Well ofcourse they didnt you idiots - its a story.
Its a bit like the xians who say that the bible is all true. No, its a fictional story based in real locations etc Then xians say that because the charcters etc in the da vinci code are not real none of it is. no, some of it is true, and some of it isnt.
Indianna Jones is jazzed up arhcaeology based on a fictional story but things like the crystal skulls exist. The da vinci code is based on real early church history put together with fictioanl character and events but still contains a lot of truth. The bible is based on some real places and superstitious beliefs of the time but the story etc is not real. Although I suspect that archaology suppoerts indianna jones better than it dos the bible.
The new indianna jones film is good though, about the same standard as temple of doom but not as good as the other two. Worth seeing though.
So yeah, stop going through life dismissing stuff as fiction and accepting stuff as facts. It may be a bit of both.

The Davinci Code-fact or fiction?
xians often claim that the Da Vinco Code is factually inaccurate however it contains more truth than you might realise. Obviously it's a novel and so there is a lot of fiction in it but in terms of historical facts it's reliable. Xians seem to think that just because some of it is fiction there is no truth in it at all. I think that before commenting on the Da Vinci Code xians should visit Dan Brown's official website and read the following (offical sites are normally more relaible and if you look at the last quote on the list you'll see how stupid the claim is that historians don't think much of the Da Vinci Code):
"I should mention that priests, nuns, and clergy contact me all the time to thank me for writing the novel."
"Many historians now believe (as do I) that in gauging the historical accuracy of a given concept, we should first ask ourselves a far deeper question: How historically accurate is history itself?"
"Interestingly, if you ask three people what it means to be Christian, you will get three different answers. Some feel being baptized is sufficient. Others feel you must accept the Bible as absolute historical fact. Still others require a belief that all those who do not accept Christ as their personal savior are doomed to hell. Faith is a continuum, and we each fall on that line where we may."
"The opposition generally comes from the strictest Christian thinkers who feel the idea of a "married Jesus" serves to undermine His divinity."
"Art historians agree that Da Vinci's paintings contain hidden levels of meaning that go well beneath the surface of the paint. Many scholars believe his work intentionally provides clues to a powerful secret"
"I first learned of the mysteries hidden in Da Vinci's paintings while I was studying art history at the University of Seville in Spain."
"I was fortunate enough to view the originals of some of Da Vinci's most famous works as well as discuss them with an art historian who helped me better understand the mystery behind their surprising anomalies."
"I was surprised how eager historians were to share their expertise with me. One academic told me her enthusiasm for The Da Vinci Code was based in part on her hope that "this ancient mystery would be unveiled to a wider audience."

The historical evidence for Jebus
Often when xians look at the historical evidence for jebus they set three possibilities and rule out two of them and tell you that they must therefore be right. This is, ofcourse, a very dishonest technique. For exzample either the disciples were kiostaken, lying or telling the truth. Either jubus was good , bad or mad.
My Solution
One obvious option missed out is that they were being sarcastic. When Jesus said he was god he didn't really mean it and when the disciples said they saw Jesus feed 5000 people they were only joking. . Another example is that Jebus, the disciples and Paul etc did not exist and were inventions of the second century church. When we put our minds to it we can think of all kinds of plausable explanations of the data.

Jesus was never crucified
Whilst I was doing my usual trick of browsing Youtube for new arguments I came across this which shows that Jesus was never crucified.
